Achill Island Sea Salt is hand harvested sea salt from the waters around Achill Island. The sea salt has a soft flaky texture, with a clean taste and contains no additives or preservatives. The rich mineral content of the sea water contributes to it's distinctive texture and concentrated salty taste. It also has a naturally clean crystalline white appearance. The sea water is collected on the northern side of the island at the Valley Pier. Sea water is the only raw material used in the production of Achill Island Sea Salt. The Atlantic sea water is put through a series of filters to remove any sand, seaweed or particles that may be present in the water. Achill Island Sea Salt is made from pure sea water. No additional rock salt or sea salt is added to the process.
