Pay a visit to Adventure Gently and enjoy a safe, fun, water-based activity that is suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities.
Adrienne and Graham are your experienced and qualified canoeists, leading your small group and sharing their passion for Canadian canoeing, their local knowledge, and their love for the area.
All necessary equipment for the day out on the river, lake, or canal, is provided. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as kingfishers darting across still water or, if you are really quiet, even fishing. Learn some basic canoe strokes, relax, and enjoy the tranquillity of travelling by water.
Whether you want to ‘dip your toe in’ or enjoy ‘a total immersion’ experience, Adventure Gently has options for you, from two-hour trips to multi-day expeditions.
Close to the Wild Atlantic Way, some of Adventure Gently’s favourite paddling locations are the scenic Shannon Blueway, Lough Gill and its many islands (including the famous lake isle of Innisfree), The River Bonet (Dromahair) to Parkes Castle, the River Boyle and Lough Key, the 'secret' River Shannon, the Shannon-Erne Waterway, and many more.
Join Adventure Gently and they will show you the beautiful northwest landscape from a different perspective.
You'll be met at a pre-arranged location which suits both your group's preferences and, of course, the weather forecast. At Adventure Gently, in accordance with their ‘green’ philosophy, take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but ripples. Adventure Gently will provide you with a photo journal of your canoeing adventure at no extra cost. They also work with other activity providers and can arrange a very special big day out for you, if you wish.
In addition to a guided canoe trip, why not take a spin on an electric bike tour? It's cycling made easy on the scenic small roads of Leitrim. Guided foraging walks to remember with the fantastic Tina, the queen of foraging, are also available.
