Mermaid Arts Centre are very excited to bring you Part I of their late night events taking place on Friday 14 June. Part I is a double bill screening of Birdsong and I Am a Forest and Part II is Music and Senses: A Synesthetic Spectacle.
Birdsong: Ornithologist Seán Ronayne from Cobh, Co. Cork is on a mission to record the sound of every bird species in Ireland–that’s nearly 200 birds. Seán’s journey illustrates the beauty and importance of sound, and what listening can tell us about the state of our natural world.
I Am a Forest: This film is solidly based on larger art project by co-director Elida Maiques. With its roots in archaeology and music anthropology, I Am a Forest brings us forward into possible eco-futures, embracing storytelling with its strange, fluid narrative.
